Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) の ベータ版をインストールしてみた。

** IE8 + Sleipnir 2.94 (Windows Vista SP2) → 描写速度の測定結果 5898.6ms

 IE8 + Sleipnir 2.94 (Windows XP SP3) → 描写速度の測定結果 8728.0ms

**<IE9インストール後>
** IE9 Beta (Windows Vista SP2) → 描写速度の測定結果 532.4ms

はえーよ!描写のにかかる時間が、当社比91%カット!
ホームページ見る時に、「ページ開くのがなんか遅い!」って思ってる人は、

 ・自分が利用している回線速度
 ・相手側サーバーの回線速度
 ・自分のPCのハードウェア(CPUやメモリーなど)

以外に、ブラウザのエンジンを疑った方がいいのかもしれない。。
うちの環境では、IE8がボトルネックになってた。
というか、Chrome (Google) や Safari (Apple) に比べて、IE8がいかにダメか再確認。

※なお、今回の動作速度の評価に使用したSunspiderは、
JavaScriptの使用(画面描画、暗号化、テキスト操作など)を測定するもので、
アプリケーション自体の実行速度を測定するものではない。

・・・ちなみに今回、そもそもIE9ベータ版をインストールするに至った動機は、
Awesome Drop という Andorid のアプリをインストールする際に、
HTML5対応のブラウザでないと動作しないから、IE9が必要だったから。
ベータが取れて、正式リリースされる日を待ってます。
